Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the minimum needed to connect a payment to a Discord account and open or close a door. We never see card numbers. We never sell anything to anyone. Two groups of people appear in this policy: owners, who pay us, and members, who pay an owner.

1. Who is responsible

Greetster is built and run by Radoslav Donchev, a sole operator, reachable at [email protected].

For owner data we are the controller. For member data we act on the owner's instructions as a processor, and the owner is the controller of their own community's data.

Greetster is operated from Quebec, Canada. Radoslav Donchev is also the person in charge of protecting personal information here, and that same address reaches him.

2. What we collect about owners

• From Discord, when you sign in: your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and email address.
• From Stripe, when you subscribe: a customer ID, subscription status, plan, renewal dates. Never your card number.
• From your setup: your server ID, the invite channel and role you chose, your grace and reminder settings, your welcome message, and any crypto receiving addresses you enter.
• Automatically: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and standard server logs including IP address, for security and debugging.

3. What we collect about members

• The email address on their payment to the owner, and their Stripe customer and subscription IDs on the owner's account.
• Their Discord user ID and username once they join, so access can be granted and removed.
• Payment status and history for that community: active, past due, cancelled, refunded.

We do not collect message content, we do not read conversations in any server, and we do not track browsing across other websites.

4. Card numbers

Card details are entered on Stripe's own hosted pages and are stored by Stripe. They never touch our servers and we could not retrieve them if we wanted to.

5. Why we collect it

• To run the service: matching a payment to a Discord account is the entire product.
• To bill owners and keep subscriptions accurate.
• To send transactional email: invites, receipts, renewal reminders, failed-payment notices, access changes. These are not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from without losing the service.
• To keep accounts safe: rate limiting, fraud prevention, and debugging.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use these providers to run the service:

7. Where data lives

Greetster is operated from Quebec, Canada, and our server sits in New York, in the United States. So your data, and your members' data, is stored outside Quebec and outside Canada. Our other providers may process it in further countries. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

8. How long we keep it

• Owner accounts: for as long as the account is open, then 30 days after it ends, then deleted.
• Member records: for as long as the owner's account is open, so a returning member can be recognised instead of duplicated.
• Billing records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Server logs: a short rolling window for security and debugging.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will answer.

Members: your data reached us because you paid a community owner. Ask that owner first, since they control it. You may also contact us and we will pass the request on or act on it with them.

10. Cookies

One cookie, and it exists to keep you logged in. No advertising cookies, no analytics that follow you around the web, no third-party trackers on our pages.

11. Children

The service is not for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age Discord requires where they live. We do not knowingly collect their data, and we delete it if we find it.

12. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Secrets are stored outside the web root and are never in our code. Every query for member data is scoped to the owner it belongs to. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected people and any required regulator if a breach happens.

13. Changes

If we change this policy materially we will email the address on your account before it takes effect, and update the date at the top.
